About

hi, hey, hello!

I'm Desiree, a wedding and elopement photographer based in Oahu, Hawaii

If I’m not out taking pictures, I’m probably cuddled with my 2 dachshunds, reading a book (my goal is to read 40 in 2023), or taking care of my plants (what started as 3 plants at the end of 2019 has somehow turned into me now having 50+ plants and an Ikea greenhouse cabinet in 2023 lol.)

Prior to taking pictures of weddings, I used to plan them! I was a banquet coordinator here on Oahu for 3 years, then worked as an event manager for over a year in NYC. I’ve been in the photography world now for over 15 years. It started as a hobby, which turned into me getting side gigs for travel and commercial photography. In 2016 I decided to take the plunge to quit my day job to pursue wedding and elopement photography full time.

Our Wedding Story

Michael and I were engaged after 6 years together. As a photographer myself, pictures were important, and I wanted them to be EPIC. A year later, we flew ourselves and our photographer out to Utah to capture our “wedding” photos. The year and a half after that was filled with work and we barely had any time to plan, so we decided to just sign papers to make it official. My dad wanted to host a dinner with our families to celebrate, but it quickly turned into a large party in his backyard complete with extended family, friends, and even a DJ and photo booth- all planned within the matter of a couple of weeks by my parents. Our engagement spanned 2.5 years but we love the way our pictures turned out, and our wedding celebration was definitely the most fun we’ve had in a while.

Whatever your day looks like, traditional or completely different, it’ll be YOUR day and it’ll be amazing.
